Stora Enso Oyj, a pulp and paper manufacturer was formed by the merger of Swedish mining and forestry products company Stora AB and Finnish forestry products company Enso Oyj in 1998.
This deal was a part of Bergvik Skog’s efforts to restructure its ownership; with this deal Stora Enso will transform its current ownership of 49.8 percent in Bergvik Skog, to a direct holding of 69.8 percent of the value of the forest assets in Bergvik Väst.
As a result Stora Enso will have a better visibility of the wood supple in Sweden, giving them the opportunity to further develop sustainable forest management.
